Cookies and local storage are different
A cookie is a small value a browser can send with requests to a website. Local storage is a browser-held value that website scripts can read on the same origin; it is not automatically sent with each page request. Both can remember settings, but they have different technical behaviour.
The supplied HTML, CSS and JavaScript do not set cookies and do not include analytics, advertising scripts or tracking pixels. The optional preference control below uses local storage only. Hosting infrastructure may use separate essential technical mechanisms; those depend on deployment and are not configured by this static page.
The preference this code can save
The key reescoopstoryjlt-consent records an essential-only choice. It does not contain a name, email address, episode query or browsing history. It persists across pages on this origin in the same browser until you remove it, clear site data or the browser deletes it.
Saving the preference does not activate optional features: none are included in the supplied site code. Reading pages, opening plot accordions and creating a local contact draft do not require this saved value.
Local preference controls
Choose essential-only storage or remove this site’s saved preference. These controls apply to this browser and origin, not to another device.
JavaScript checks your local preference here. No optional tracking is included.
Other browser-held information
The browser may cache page files for faster loading and may restore form values according to its own settings. The contact drafting script does not persist your draft. A clipboard copy or downloaded text file remains on your device independently of website storage.
Removing the preference does not erase email you sent, clipboard history, downloaded files or hosting records. Consult your browser and operating system controls for those items.
Controlling storage yourself
You can inspect and clear cookies and site data through your browser’s privacy settings. Private browsing can change storage persistence. Blocking local storage may prevent a preference from being remembered, but the supplied site handles that failure without preventing access to its content.
See Your Data for wider privacy information. Questions about this notice can be sent to [email protected].
